What is private messaging?
- Private messaging is a way to instant message with users on Ilivesports.com. For example, if you notice that another athlete has a really good slap shot on their streaming video, you could send them a private message asking them how they get their power?
- You must be logged in as a user to send a private message.
- Log in using your username and password.
- Once you are logged in, search for athletes/friends using one of the many search functions (advanced or simple). Once you locate the athlete/friend you'd like to send a message to, click on their photo or username and it will bring you to their profile page.
In the left hand column of their profile page click on the link that says "send private message"
The member's username that you are sending the private message to will automatically be filled in. Fill in the subject, description and message and click on "send private message."
Once your message has been sent, you can either continue sending messages or return to your profile. On the top of the page, you will see a link that states, "Return to profile."
The other athlete/friend will receive a message in their "inbox" located on their athlete profile page.
The athlete who you sent your message to can click on "inbox" and view your message. They can respond to your message by clicking on the "reply" button.

Do I need to be someone's friend to send them a private message?
No, you do not have to be someone's friend to send them a private message, however you do need to be logged in using your username and password.

What is fan mail?
- "Fan Mail" is like a blog. It allows you to send messages/comments to users on the site. It is also a great way to spread information quickly for a team. For example, "Who is going to drive the carpool to today's practice?"
- You do not have to be logged in to post a message on an athlete's page.
Enter "subject" and "message" and then click "save" and your message will be sent.

How do I add articles featuring my accomplishments?
- Log on using your user name and password.
Scroll down in the center of your athlete profile page until "my articles" and click on "edit."
Click on "add article" or you can edit previously entered articles.
- You can then cut and paste the text in from your favorite publication featuring your accomplishments.
- Add in the date of the article as well as the featured title and then click "save."

How do I add my favorite websites, so others can see?
- Log on using your username and password.
Scroll down in the center of your athlete profile page until "My Favorite Web Sites" and click on "edit."
Click on "add website" or you can edit previously entered websites.
Complete the website name (e.g. Ilivesports or ILS), the URL (e.g. http://www.Ilivesports.com), the description (e.g. my ticket to playing college hockey), and click on the "update" button.
- Then you can either "add website" to add more of your favorite websites, edit previously entered websites using the "edit" and "delete" icons or return to your profile page.

What if my sport is not listed on Ilivesports.com?
If your sport is not listed on Ilivesports.com, you can create a profile under "other" sport (e.g. Auto Racing). It has generic statistics that should be applicable to many sports. Also, please email your sport request as well as any specific statistics you'd like to see captured under that sport to feedback@livesports.com and we'll do our best to add your sport to our website.

No, users can set up as many profiles as they would like.
